Joe Scragg | Chief Financial Officer

Joe joined Wakatū as its first Chief Financial Officer in February 2005. Prior to moving to Nelson, Joe grew up in Canterbury and held senior roles at Otago University and Naylor Love Construction in Dunedin. He is a graduate of Otago University and a Chartered Accountant. Joe is married to Victoria and they have three children, Reuben, Bruno and Hannah.

Alan Edwards | Management Accountant

With an accounting background, spread across both NZ & UK, most of Alan’s prior roles have been in either the logistics / freight industry or service-based entities. Prior to moving to Nelson, Alan spent the best part of seven years contracting to countless businesses. Since joining Wakatū, Alan’s role has been focussed on providing financial advice to the land-based commercial activities of the organisation – the winery / vineyards and the horticultural operations.

Steve Baird | Systems Accountant

Steve and his wife Cheryl have four grown children. They have lived in Nelson for the last 17 years where Steve has undertaken a number of years in accounting and IT roles. This includes work in the seafood and coal sectors. Steve is an avid supporter of all major sporting codes.

Caroline Styles | Accountant

Born and bred in the UK, Caroline first spent time in New Zealand in her twenties where she cycled the length and breadth of the country. Returning to her native country, Caroline spent a number of years working for an American Oil Company. Caroline is a Chartered Accountant and resides in Nelson with her partner Paul and their two young children.

Lynell King | Payroll Officer

Lynell has worked for the organisation for 17 years. 12 of these were in the factory as an opener and then assistant supervisor. Since then she has moved into the office where she has undertaken a variety of administrative roles, including her current one of Payroll Officer. Lynell has been married for 25 years and has 2 grown children. Lynell loves going fishing with her family.

Myron Elkington | Administrator

Ngāti Koata, Ngāti Kuia, Ngāti Raukawa and Ngāti Toa

Myron recently joined the Wakatū team in the role of administrator, coming from a management position in the fast food industry. Myron has a love for kapahaka and is a New Zealand Netball Official. As the first point of contact for many Wakatū visitors, Myron’s role is pivotal for manaakitanga and whakawhanaungatanga.
